The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is kicking off an all-new third generation, and there is a great deal of excitement among our customers here at Winter Chevrolet. While the new Colorado is still in preproduction as of this writing, we do know that it will be available in five core trim levels. The WT is the base model but much better equipped than the usual work truck. The LT is the well-equipped Colorado, and there will be three off-road-oriented options: the Trail Boss, Z71 and performance-oriented ZR2.

As mentioned, the two-door extended cab option is gone as is the 74-inch long box. Every 2023 Chevrolet Colorado in Pittsburg has a four-door crew cab and a box that measures 61.7 inches. This does not come as much of a surprise because this setup outsold the other two the previous generation by a substantial amount. Seventeen-inch alloy wheels are standard, and depending on the trim level, 18-inch wheels are available in various finishes and designs. All models feature the StowFlex tailgate, which has a lockable compartment that can be used as a cooler and which features an integrated tape measure.

A notable change for the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is that Chevrolet is retiring the extended cab. The crew cab is by far the most popular option, and so every Colorado will now come in that configuration. This cab seats up to five and provides 45.2 inches of front legroom and 34.7 inches of rear legroom. Chevrolet has completely redesigned the interior as well. Even the new WT is more upscale than its previous incarnation, and Chevy has added new options, such as a sunroof for the first time.

The WT and LT are available from Winter Chevrolet with rear-wheel drive as standard equipment and all-wheel drive as an upgrade. The Trail Boss, Z71 and Z72 feature four-wheel drive standard. The Trail Boss and Z71 add all-terrain tires, a wider chassis, a factory-lifted suspension, a two-speed transfer case with a case shield, an off-road performance display and four selectable driving modes. The ZR2 is similar but features an even more sophisticated suspension for off-roading at higher speeds.

Every 2023 Chevrolet Colorado has a shiftable eight-speed automatic transmission. The WT and LT come standard with a 2.7-liter inline-four engine that makes 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. The Trail Boss and Z71 come with a higher-output version of the same engine, and it makes 301 hp and 390 lb.-ft. That engine is optional with the WT and LT, and an even higher-output version is exclusive to the ZR2 and makes 310 hp and 430 lb.-ft.
