2024 Chevrolet Traverse Overview
Winter Chevrolet is now accepting preorders of the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse, and this is an important model for the American brand as it ushers in an all-new third Traverse generation and really improves the model overall. The V6 engine has been retired in favor a turbo-four that’s not only more powerful but more fuel efficient. All-wheel drive continues to be an option with front-wheel drive as the standard layout. Power goes to the wheels through a shiftable eight-speed automatic transmission. The Traverse has been made a bit bigger overall, and the interior is roomy enough that you can accommodate adults comfortably in third row while enjoying even more dedicated cargo space. Chevrolet has also opted to shake up the trim selection and pare the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse trim levels down to four core options.
LS Trim
The LS is the most affordable of the trim levels for the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse at Winter Chevrolet, and this is one of the returning options. This trim has traditionally been one of the more affordable in the entire segment, and we expect that to continue. But we also know based on the standard equipment that Chevrolet has already confirmed that it will deliver an even better value proposition. In a recent press release, Chevrolet promised more advanced safety features than ever before, including items like pedestrian and bicyclist detection and smart cruise control with speed limit assist. Buckle to Drive and Teen Driver have both been updated as well and continue be included in the standard package.
LT Trim
This is one of the new 2024 Chevrolet Traverse trim levels, and if it seems familiar, that’s because it replaces the LT Cloth and LT Leather trim levels. Much remains unannounced about this trim level, but we do know that this is the point in the lineup where the second-row captain’s chairs become standard and Chevrolet offers the new premium Evotex seating upholstery as an option. We expect most of the standard features from the LT Cloth and LT Leather trims to be included here, and we expect an LT Premium package that will let you add many of the most popular options at a reduced cost.
Z71 Trim
The Z71 is the first of the truly new 2024 Chevrolet Traverse trim levels, but Z71 is a trim that Chevrolet offers with many of its models as an off-road configuration. We expect this trim to be equipped like the LT plus the LT Premium package or equivalent. It will also have some mechanical enhancements that are exclusive to it. These include a more sophisticated all-wheel-drive system with a twin clutch, a 1-inch lift, an improved approach angle, upgraded shock absorbers and a traction-based drive mode select system.
RS Trim
The RS trim returns for the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse but now occupies a very different place in the lineup. It’s still the sportier model with a sport appearance package, a sport-tuned suspension, 22-inch wheels and a flat-bottomed steering wheel, but it also serves as the top-of-the-line model. We’re not exactly sure yet how that plays out. Our early expectation is that it’s equipped more like the Premier and that much of the extras offered with a trim like the High Country are offered here as options.
